Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill

Oh god I LOVED THIS SO MUCH

- Kylie not being a complete embarrassment to me for the first time in about two years!
- Elton John rising from his death bed to slur out some classics!
- Grace Jones (?!) hoola-hooping for a bemused John Major!
- Annie Lennox dressed as an angel!
- Alfie Boe and Opera Woman using the front of the palace like a MASSIVE STAGE MUSICAL SET to sing Somewhere from West Side Story!
- Madness being rendered tolerable by some shit hot projections!
- Charles calling the Queen ‘mummy’ and being funnier than any of the comedians (who he bitchslapped in his own dead pan way)!
- HRH Camilla getting stage time (with kylie)!
- The Queen saying fuck the recession and using a great big massive diamond to light the beacon (?! actually that felt ill advised)
- FIREWORKS!
- Lots of elderly popstars singing hits from their glory days!
WELL DONE, ORGANISERS. I felt all happy to be british at the end of it.

I assumed that everything would lead to complete failure, but I decided that didn’t matter – that would be my life.

Back in 2004 RADA, where Ben had studied drama, celebrated it’s centenary. A commemorative book was published a year later featuring portraits by Cambridge Jones and interviews by Miranda Sawyer with past student. This is what Ben had to say about his time there. He would have just done Hamlet and filmed Perfume.
[EIC: Thanks Rev Stan!  I scanned this page back when I bought the book (for $1.00!!).  Highly recommended for theater fans.  RADA folks are always the best….  Amazon link here.]
